Something interesting about Loren is that food is not one of his love languages. I could make Ramen noodles every day and he would never notice. However, since I am allergic to said meal, we stay away from that. Over the last two and a half years of being with Loren, I have asked him countless times what his favorite foods are. His answer? "Whatever is in front of me." You may think this makes things easy for me! Which, on one hand it does. But on the other, when I want to gift him with a special meal, there isn't any favorite of his to win his heart over. I have found that he feels super loved when I keep a jar full of M&M's and fresh cookies on the counter.
This morning, however, I asked him again. "Do you have a favorite meal?" He answered with "I think so! I really have enjoyed the Mahi Mahi Tacos on Mondays. And I love stuffed burgers with homemade fries. Cookies are always nice." Hello! It's the smaller things in life, really. So tonight, I make stuffed burgers!
From the original post, Jen says: "Although the rest of the family is not overly-fond of spaghetti, my husband loves it, so I try to make it at least two or three times a month as a way to honor him. Next time you’re planning meals, give special consideration to your husband’s preferences."
I highly encourage meal planning. It aids life in many great ways. One way to respect and serve your husband is to ask him for 2 dinner ideas each week - what would he prefer to eat?
Internalize this verse today: Proverbs 31:14 She is like a merchant’s ship, bringing her food from afar.
